• How often should my hot water heater be serviced?

  Your hot water system, be it tank or tankless, should be professionally serviced once per year.  It is a good idea to combine the service with that of your other heating appliances to save money and to make remembering easy.  If you sign up for our R&B Maintenance Plan, for one discounted annual cost you can have all your gas appliances serviced and any filters supplied, changed, or cleaned for the whole year.

• Why should I get my hot water appliance serviced?

  Hot water is one of the top three energy consumers in your household. It makes sense to keep it running as efficiently as possible. Safety checks and cleaning are part of a good plan to ensure longevity of service, as well as prevention of faults and failure.

• How do you service my hot water appliance?

  Although each type of heater has slightly different servicing needs there are commonalities such as:

  1. Inspection and cleaning of exterior unit including gas and water lines and fittings.
  2. Inspection and cleaning of interior of unit, gas ignition system and flame quality. 
  3. Testing of safety devices.
  4. Clearing and maintenance of air flows and exhaust.
  5. Cleaning of filters.
  6. Checking settings and ensuring optimal operation is achieved.
